Overview
Travel from Marrakech to the great dunes of Erg Chebbi near Merzouga. Cross the High Atlas, follow the Dades and Todra valleys and finish the day riding a camel into the Sahara as the sun sets.
The route passes Aït Ben Haddou, Ouarzazate and the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs before reaching the desert. In Merzouga, discover the golden dunes, enjoy traditional Berber hospitality and spend a magical night in a desert camp with dinner, music around the fire and incredible stargazing.
Wake up early for sunrise over the dunes before continuing your journey. The tour can be extended with extra nights in the desert, a visit to the nomad families of the region or a return via Fez.
